With the digital world, it’s important to present pictures and videos. That’s how people learn. SnagIt and Camtasia would let me do just that!

    Hi,
I prefer Snagit, I used to have it, but missed a few upgrades and would be great to enjoy this wonderful tool again.

    Thanks in advance :)

As I run a Photoshop Tutorials Website, this will allow me to make screencast tutorials as well as written tutorials, therefore also allowing me to make tutorials when Im short on time and havent got time to write out and screenshot them!

    Thanks!

I dabble in a bit of screencasting here and there from time to time ;)

Wouldn’t hurt to have some boss software to go with it…

Congrats on the beginning of your new venture on this site.

    Cheers! [_]D

I just got a snagit license because the product has been incredibly helpful for creating documentation. I’d love to be able to do the same thing for video.

I’m publishing free Usability Checks on Benutzerzentrale.de helping Designers bring more Usable Websites to birth. There are way to many Unusable Sites online, i want to change this!

With the Studio i could improve my screencasts in so many ways…

Cheers Reggie, it’s a cool prize to kick off the site with!

I’d love a copy of Camtasia. It’d save me so much time and effort in explaining to clients how to manage their own sites. Even better, if the client forgets the explanation, there’s always going to be a video on file that they can check up on.

Plus I’d love to get more tutorials up on my site, and I think the speed and ease of video and screencast tutorials is the way to go!

could use it for work – we create flash demos of our software all the time but are tooooooo cheap to order new tools. Ugh. So embarrassing.

I have been using snagit and camtasia at my present place of employment but am getting ready to move on and into some freelance work at the end of the month. Having both of these great tools available as a freelancer in design, technical writing, and quality assurance would be FANTASTIC!!

I have been wanting to do some HDR tutorials this would definitely help get that done.

I’ve been a diehard mac-user and for year, but now with the rich media going through such a big change I have look beyond Flash started to learn Silverlight and that means more and more time in Windows. I’m starting to look for tools like those I have on the mac (Snapz-Pro & LittleSnapper). Camtasia Studio & Snagit look like the best out there ;)

I`ve used SnagIt in prior jobs and I find it to be a great tool. I never bought myself a personal license, but I often found cases in which I knew SnagIt would have been useful!

Camtasia is a state of the art desktop recording application, it does have everything feature you can imagine ..

  15. Posted June 9, 2009 at 3:05 pm | Permalink

I want to win this prize as I am currently working on moving our main product from the desktop to a web platform. Experience has taught me 1 thing when it comes to user documentation a picture is worth more than a thousand words. My end users like the ability to watch me perform the same procedure in a movie they can pause etc.

  16. Posted June 9, 2009 at 3:11 pm | Permalink

Camtasia would be useful to create some editing tutorials for my students. I’ve wanted to get into that for a while. Also I’ve never used SnagIt, but have heard good things and would like to try it.

Love SnagIt for images, and would love to extend to Camtasia’s elegance for screen recording and video. Also, giveaway closes on my birthday — why not add Camtasia to the haul? :-)

  18. Posted June 9, 2009 at 3:49 pm | Permalink

Awesome giveaway, thank you! It would be awesome to win this because I write tutorials all the time and these would be fantastic for facilitating my job! Good luck to all!

    SnagIt looks awesome.

Camtasia would be a great help for my blogging, I’m using iShowU HD for capturing my screencasts at the moment, but it’s just missing some of nicer features to bring the screencasts to life a bit.

Congrats on the new site too! :)

I’m new to SnagIt, and it seems to be an awesome program for capturing images and other useful information from the web for instance.
And on top of that, I’m a lazy guy – I need it!

Also, Camtasia would probably change my freetime alot. I have always wanted to create screencasts and such, and this would be a great opportunity to do so.

Thanks for giving away quality software!

I’d looove to get SnagIt and Camtasia. I’ve been wanting to do screencasts for so long, but they’re a leetle too expensive for me. :)

This is an amazing giveaway! Also, congrats on the great site!

Camtasia seems REALLY nice! : )

  26. Posted June 9, 2009 at 4:44 pm | Permalink

I write a lot of tutorials (mostly Drupal and MODx how-tos) but I’ve been wanting to get into screencasting for a while now. Getting a copy of Camtasia Studio and snagIt will help me make my tutorials more powerful by adding a screencast to each written tutorial so those who are visual learners can learn as they watch me build websites.

    thanks! :)

Being an author of many different articles helping people with website design, this software will allow me to present individuals who are learning with visual stimuli to aid them even further, something that text and screenshots cannot do alone.

Just hand it over. or the kittens die. We wouldn’t want that to happen, now would we?

    kidding

I’ve made tutorial videos for various products but only using camtasia 5. It would simply be fantastic to get hold of the latest. having the high def capability would rock. I love doing top quality work.

I’ve never used Snagit and havent had the funds for it yet… hey, I’m sure it’s a great system and would be thrilled to get it from you. I know I would make good use of it.

    Hi,
I’ve been hearing lots of good things about Camtasia… it seems like all my tech acquaintences are using it to create little screencasts for training. I’d like to be able to create software training videos for use within my company, but don’t have any room in the budget just now.
    Thanks!

I’ve been looking at screen capture software for a while, but its a little too expensive while being a student. Either that, or the feature set is lacking to do a useful screencast.

Often on forums people will request how to get a around a certain problem either with a 3d app, photoshop, or more general things. In the past I’ve used wink, but having Camtasia would allow me to edit, embed, and share the files easier.

I’ve also been building a new tutorial site that will focus on Swift 3d, a 3d companion to Flash. A video capture solution would really help. And to supplement the screencast, I would need to take screenshots quickly without going into a bigger image editor such as Photoshop, which is where Snagit would fit into the picture.

At any rate, its cool that you’re giving this away, someone will be very happy with it. I’ve tried the demo in the past, and the software is really easy to use.

I’m bootstrapping my wordpress hosting/consulting business to help give non-technies a voice on the internet by helping them set up blogs/websites.

My inspiration for this has been my own experience with WordPress and the greater blogging community – it’s motivated me to pursue a career doing something I love, instead of settling for an office job for financial security.

It would be great to be able to use the best of the best to create the tutorials I’ve been preparing.

(congrats on your launch & thanks for the giveaway!)

I teach distance learning courses for a community college (Photoshop, Flash, Dreamweaver). I would love to be able to create video tutorials for my students but the cost of Camtasia has been prohibitively expensive. Since I do not see the students in class, I have to create my notes with screenshots and typed instructions – not the most effective tool for explaining how to perform tasks.

I also am a freelance web developer and often have to walk clients through a task via the phone, which can be frustrating for both myself and the client. Creating video user guides, walking them through updating their own site, would be much more user-friendly and empowering for the clients, also allowing them to save and rewatch the video at their own pace.

I am just now offering digital coaching to my clients. I’ve been using Jing to set up short “How to …” videos for my subscribers. “How to paste from Word into Wordpress” “How to set up GMail as a central inbox”

My clients love it. I love doing it.

But Jing ties my hands when it comes to editing. I would love to have Camtasia Studio to present a truly polished product.

Mainly because I’ve used the trial version and it rocks. Would like to continue creating screencasts, helping out the community.

I run a Chamber of Commerce in a very underserved, rural area of Tennessee. It is important to keep up with the trends of the internet. Snagit and Camtasia are perfect for creating videos that would help our county present itself in the best light. As they say, pictures are worth a thousand words!

I use Jing already and love it. I’m actually going to be purchasing the Pro version at the end of the week. With me delivering more and more video on my site, Camtasia would be an awesome thing to have and use for editing.

    I’d love a copy.

Recently we got a call to our tech desk help line from a faculty member. She had a multi-legged creature in her computer screen. In it. Yep, it was actually behind the glass on her monitor.

I know that screencasting is a great way to capture bugs in the software maintenance stage of the SDLC. So, I’m just wondering if it could have helped us “locate” her bug and fix it. Hee, hee.

Seriously, I need some Camtasia to document usability issues in the world’s best LMS, Moodle. And to help train busy faculty!

    Thanks for the offer!
